Drumul Taberei Park

I lived near this park for a few years. It was considered one of the nicest neighbourhood in Bucharest - because it was green, quiet, safe. It still is safe but not so quiet and green. For a few years now we are in the middle of a construction site. A new subway line it is built here. This park is where parents are taking their kids to play and where the whole neighbourhood is taking some fresh air. The park was rehabilitated with EU funds and reopened to the public in 2015.

The new addition is the impressive bridge other the lake.

There are some greenhouses which are still under construction on one side of the park. It is said that they will house a collection of exotic plants - but for now no one knows when they will be open to public.  It is the glass building below.

Although people are complaining about the quality of the works, it is a nice place to relax and enjoy the view ...

Admition is of course free as in any park. From the city centre, bus 268 takes you right in next to this park (Piata Drumul Taberei stop, and across the street).

Bucharest - A love and hate story

It is such a strange love story!

I absolutely love it and absolutely hate it! All at once!

This is not a travel guide.

These are the stories of the foster daughter ...
